On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a large-scale military invasion of Ukraine. I stand with Ukraine and add my voice to the widespread international condemnation of this invasion.

How to help the people of Ukraine
CAREÂ supports partners on the ground to provide food, water, and hygiene kits to the most vulnerable in Ukraine.
International Committee of the Red Cross provides emergency assistance, supports hospitals and primary healthcare facilities, repairs water stations, helps rehabilitate damaged homes, and helps reconnect families separated by conflict. You can also donate directly to the Red Cross in Ukraine.
International Medical Corps work to expand access to medical and mental health services for those living in affected communities and help refugees.Â
Médecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders provide emergency response and basic mental health care in Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Russia, and Belarus.
OutRight Action supports the LGBTIQ organisations in Ukraine.
People in Need is a Czech non-governmental, non-profit organisation sending trucks loaded with food, hygiene items, diapers, sleeping mats, and other humanitarian aid to Ukraine and Slovakia.
Sunflower of Peace is raising money for first aid medical tactical backpacks for paramedics and doctors on the front lines.
UN Crisis Relief donation go towards food, clean water, medicine, shelter, and other humanitarian aid.
UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR)Â is fundraising to provide relief for displaced Ukrainians.
UNICEFÂ provides health, hygiene, and emergency education supplies for children and families under threat.
Voices of Children assists children and families in Ukraine, including emergency psychological assistance and evacuation.
Support local journalism. The Kyiv Independent, which has a GoFundMe, has been the leading voice on the front lines. The New Voice of Ukraine covers breaking news in English, Ukrainian, and Russian. Kyiv Post is a non-independent, state-funded news outlet delivering breaking news and statements from government and national officials.
Support your local Ukrainian community. They will have information about what’s happening, needed, where to donate, and where to join a vigil or rally. For Victorians like me, follow the Association of Ukrainians in Victoria on Facebook.
