Guiding you through life’s sacred thresholds
From Havana to Melbourne, I weave magic, meaning, and compassionate care as a tarot reader, end-of-life doula, and spiritual care practitioner for seekers, creatives, and soul-led professionals navigating change, loss, and transformation.
Who I am
I’m Cosette, a priestess, tarot reader, end-of-life doula, and spiritual care practitioner. My work blends compassion, ritual, and meaning-making, grounded in my Cuban heritage, spiritual traditions, and decades of experience in communication and community work.
From Havana to Melbourne
I was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1977. My family fled Castro’s communist regime on the Mariel boatlift in 1980, and we settled in Miami. Growing up, I was a voracious reader and developed an appetite for writing.
As a journalism student, I became intrigued by this new thing called the World Wide Web. I’m a Generation Xer — I had an analogue childhood and a digital young adulthood. I began blogging in the AOL Journals community, exploring technology and community as ways to discover, process, and share.
A few things about me
- Born in Havana, raised in Miami, living in Melbourne, Australia since 2012.
- Sagittarius sun, Cancer moon, Scorpio rising — I collect experiences, feelings, and secrets .
- Fluent in English, Spanglish, and conversational Spanish with a Miami accent, some Aussie slang, and cafecito energy.
- I love ice cream and turtles… though not together.
Work in communication & community
I have a B.A. in English, a certificate in Women’s Studies, and a minor in Religious Studies. Although I began my career as a news reporter, I moved into the social web space in 2010. For 15 years, I’ve worked in online communities and social media management for corporate, NGO, and not-for-profit clients including:
My ancestral practice, Wicca, and Goddess spirituality are the essential building blocks of my Craft.
The priestess
My spiritual journey began in the early 1990s as a curious young pagan interested in Greek mythology, crystals, tarot, and the environment.
In 2007, I was initiated into the Georgian Tradition of Wicca. Since 2008, I’ve been a practitioner of the Afro-Cuban religion Lukumi, where I am a daughter of Ogun and an aboricha — a person with some initiations but who has not made ocha (full priesthood).
I’m part of Beachfyre Coven in South Florida and, through this connection, the Everglades Moon Local Council (EMLC) of the Covenant of the Goddess, where I have served as both Membership Officer and Publications Officer. Additionally, I manage the Georgian Wicca website, serve as member/student, Skydancer Priestess, and Sybil of the Mt Shasta Goddess Temple in California, and am an Interest Member of the Tarot Guild of Australia.
Where I am now
In 2022, I completed a Certificate in Life Coaching with a focus on aged care counselling and end-of-life doula training. I have also undertaken two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Royal Melbourne Hospital.
These experiences now inform my practice as I offer tarot readings, witchcraft and spiritual development, end-of-life doula services, and digital support for heart-centred businesses. Whether I’m reading cards, keeping vigil, or teaching, my approach remains the same — to meet people where they are, honour their stories, and accompany them with empathy and integrity.
